We found the most incredible spot last weekend. We stayed in the Hideout Lodge owned and operated by Tess – a Swedish woman, she has a 5 year old and one on the way. The Lodge was beautiful but the beach was the best part – clean, quiet, fun waves…We spent one day in Busua – just over the hill from Butre (the village across the Lagoon from Hideout Lodge) – we took a little 3K hike over there and enjoyed the surf and delicious burritos! The hike was incredibly beautiful. The surf was decent especially if you haven’t seen surf in a really long time – mostly it was just cool to be at a surf shop in west Africa. The burritos were awesome! Homemade tortillas, beans, jollof rice, avocado and cheese (though I didn’t see any, I like to think it was there). And of course babysitting was included – T helped make our food.
You're going to love that you did this with Tommy, he'll go to anyone after this trip! Once again, drooling over your experiences.

ReplyDeleteAs I'm sitting here in jeans and a sweater I am jealous of these experiences you are having and the warm weather. Oregon is going to be quite the shock when you return home.
