check out the hair on the bird

the first thing i saw as thomas was exiting the so called "birth canal," was dark curls of hair on dr. ramptons fingers. once he popped out and they put him on the warming table for inspection, this is what happened to his head. awesome. on a heavier note, many of you know of my distaste for blogging, but i have to say, on a bloggers note, that i looked forward to having thomas recognize our voices so much. while in carolines belly (literaly, her stomach, yes thats what i meant) we talked and sang to him alot. so when he was upset at the kind nurses putting tubes down his throat, i went over to him, put my hand on his chest and told him daddy was there and it would be all right, he immediately stopped crying and looked toward where i was. labor is an intense thing, more so that i care to be a part of again soon, but having him know i was his father certainly helped to soften the difficulties that had brought him to us.

Caroline, you're one crazy woman. I bow down to you. And please tell Doc Rampton to shave the dark hair on his fingers.

Rob and I just finished reading this and then looked at each other, and we both had tears in our eyes. What a nice story, Seth. You are such a good daddy already.

He's absolutely beautiful. Such a little angel... Just wait till he's crawling and getting into everything!!!

I love the dad's perspective of birth - they're there for the whole thing and their feelings, thoughts, and actions during the process are always so sweet to me. Thanks for sharing Seth.
