We biked to the Sherry's last weekend....And Thomas said goodbye to his first home as we planted the placenta that he lived in for 9 months and that lived in our freezer for the following 5 months to fertilize a tree. It was not a tearful goodbye because placentas are disgusting! I think I will renounce my hippy ways in favor of a more sanitary, bio-hazard disposal of biological matter.

That is seriously nasty. I can't believe you had dad put it in- that's true love.
I can't believe you had that in your freezer for 5 months - you are crazy!
I think this may be a first, I'm speechless.
Wow, that is pretty interesting. I'm not sure I could do that. It's not what I expected it to look like. Brother Sherry's face says it all!
I love that you kept it, froze it, buried it... and now have pictures of it.
Dude . . . .
Nasty...
Jasper's is still in our freezer...
We are planning on doing something soon, but after seeing those pictures, I'm tempted to just toss it.
My midwife actually donates those that people don't keep (or eat) to canine search and rescue. They are very grateful for the human tissue and have attributed it to the dogs' ability to track down missing people.
I'm sad to see so many people describe a placenta as "nasty", but I'm not really surprised.
