So, the story of our blogging absense and new location is long, detailed and laborious. So, I will skip to the good part. We are now living in the high desert San Luis Valley, literally nestled in between the Rocky Mountains. It is gorgeous - a town of 4500, but still gorgeous. Seth is doing an intership with the Monte Vista Co-op as a sales agronomist. I am learning what it is like to stay at home and not see Seth at all between the hours of 7am and 6pm. I miss him. I also miss family, friends and social experiences :) But the mountains help take my mind off of that, and now that we have internet again...well, that helps too.
Here is one of the most gorgeous views I have ever seen, the valley west of us - other side of the rockys.
The season is very late here because of the altitude, so we have been able to get a small garden going: lettuce, chinese cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, cilantro, chives and mint (the last two courtesy of mama sherry - they actually survived the 24 hour drive in the back of our 26ft. moving van)
We hiked around Penitente Canyon and were even able to climb a route with Thomas as our co-belayer!
Fourth of July picnicking with the Clavin family above the old mining town of Creede. The Clavins have a son named Tommy - the two Toms are fast friends...and really hanging out with the Clavins has been the medicine for my home sickness, such a cool family!

I'm glad to finally hear some news... and good news, to boot. What a beautiful place to end up. Here's hoping there's more good news in the future.
COLORADO? Too bad you can't live in a beautiful place or anything, huh? We just visited Col a few weeks ago (John's bro manages a ranch there, south of Steamboat Springs) So gorgeous.
