So, at this ridiculous resort we stayed at we had more than one person comment on Cali being so young and on such an adventure. One passer-by said, “yeah, like she is going to remember the greatest vacation of her life.” Obviously this individual knows very little of our family. Consequently I took great comfort in being a “resident” (also great pleasure in getting a “residents rate” at the hotel). It felt great to be like, “yeah, I can come here whenever I want.” I secretly snickered at all the people getting up early, wearing their spanking new hiking boots, safari hats, cameras, bandanas, kakis, and button up shirts and filing onto tour buses. Well, when I look at this picture of Cali and I in a tour boat with our safari hat, kaki pants and button up shirt I had another little snicker, but this time it was slightly less judgmental.

Yes she may be wearing safai wear, but she is so cute!
Haha! You make me laugh and you guys look super cute in your safari wear!
This picture is the best thing I could wake up to. You look so good Caroline and little Callie, so adorable. She's growing up so fast.
Dang you, I was going to buy that shirt. Looks better on you anyways. Look that chub of love, she's getting so big!
I'm always a little dumbfounded by people who say, "they're too young to remember it". Is that the only criteria by which to judge the value of an experience? Is remembering it when you're in your 20's what's really important?
What about the learning, exposure, joy, and growth that takes place at the moment?
Surely that counts for more than 'remembering'.
And looking so cute while broading your horizons? PERFECTION :)
Oh I am loving all these posts from Africa. Living it up in Zambia!!! SO great!
