and then there were two

Fry has had some barking and door-scratching issues. We though about it a bit and decided he needed a friend. So with much less consideration than one would think...we bought another dog. We had several names on the table: Robin (for Robin Hood), paw-paw ("african" for papaya), Spwala (a name thomas made up quite some time ago and has tried to place on every living creature we come across), Lily (a name I love!). I won...she is Lily.

She and fry are both Zambian "Mongrels" we had a friend call them Kalingalinga wippets (Kalingalinga is the name of a compound here - basically the really poor areas of town are called compounds). Lily looks like she is fresh out of the compound - she has a vicious biting face and a scar on the top of her head - we call it her "strawberry" like Cali.

They are so happy and the barking has almost completely abated - thank goodness because I was going nuts!

I told Seth we will probably leave Zambia with 2 dogs and 4 kids at the rate we are going! I think about adopting everyday....then the kids wake up :)

You guys are so funny. Is Tommy in heaven now? Why not triple the family size while in Zambia.

I love that name too. So cute those two.

Geoff probably wouldn't say "cute", so that was Leah.

This is hilarious, although at the rate you are going, you might leave Africa with 4 dogs and 2 children.
