I actually had a great day. It started off rocky, waking up to a super disturbing dream, but my sweetheart was there to assure me all was well, to detach the babe and let me sleep until 7:30 (wow I wish there was a way to capitalize numbers – that is how awesome it was!) Also, I did not wake up with a “messed up face”. Thomas refers to any indication of facial wrinkles as someone having a “messed up face”. So I have that description to look forward to in the coming years.
I awoke to hot chocolate (the American kind) and cinnamon toast. We dropped T off at preschool and got the best Mango Pomegranate smoothie around then we headed down to Leopard’s Hill for a Mountain Bike ride. I feel – so it was legit. It wasn’t the climbing trip to Joshua Tree I had planned on, but a bike ride in the Southern African bush is pretty epic. We ended the day with pizza and a birthday chocolate chip cookie.
I feel good about thirty. I also have a new appreciation for facebook – it makes me feel loved on my birthday. Thanks to so many emails and shout outs on my BIG birthday. I definitely would not have imagined being here at this point in my life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way…

One of my favorite posts yet because we got to see all of those cute pictures of you. You WERE a cute baby Caroline. I'm glad you had a good birthday. I kept looking to see if you guys were online so we could sing to you but it sounds like it was fun.

You know, I've seen pictures of your Dad before but I never realized how much you look like him. Am I crazy or would you agree? You've always been beautiful!
I always thought that you looked like your mom, but now I would have to say that you are a beautiful mix of both of your parents. I never realized how much you look like your dad before.
I'm super glad that you had a good birthday and cracked up when I saw the pictures of Thomas below. I think that my favorite was the blue one because you had taken the time to put a smock on him, not realizing that he would go crazy with the chalk. :)
