so the days here have gotten much better. we are figuring out how to get around and there have been lots of huge improvements at our house. nights...another story. we are becoming ghanina - sleeping with thomas, taking squat baths, washing our clothes by hand and carrying t everywhere on my back - he doesn't cry himself to sleep anymore - it is hard for me to feel like i am instilling habits that will be very hard to break - but we want this experience (maybe not so much in the middle of the night when he starts crying). so there are some sacrifices to be made - mostly in the way we choose to parent...i guess that is not something i expected. so i am becoming ghanian.

You are awesome, Caroline. I can't imagine doing Mexico Lit with a baby--or Ghana. And you guys are such a cute (Ghanian) family. What other baby has so many passport stamps at his age? : )
What an exciting adventure you are having! I love your posts...so interesting. Keep the updates coming.
I'm sooo happy to see a picture! I needed one to know that you guys were ok. You guys look happy and I'm so proud of you.
So I'm anxious to know where you are uploading pictures/checking email etc... Do you go to Seth's school or to an internet cafe?
I'm sure when you have worked so hard at having Tommy sleep on his own it is hard to revert to co-sleeping. Alex did it until he was two years old and it only took three painful nights of him crying to break the habit. Tommy ought to be so used to change when he gets back in December it might just be a piece of cake.
Love ya guys--
Wow! Thanks for the updates! I couldn't get enough... I read all of them! That is so interesting and it sounds very exciting to experience a new culture. I feel so bad for the little boy that gets punished for going into your area :(... so sad! I hope you guys have an awesome time! Keep us updated.
I am so glad to see updates!! What an awesome experience you will always cherish~!
So good to finally see a picture! Glad things are getting better...we think and talk about you guys often. Tommy rocks!
Oh Caroline- I am so happy to see that you are feeling more settled and better about your situation. I love that you impressed them with your fufu making abilities! That's one to brag about for the rest of your life. Thomas is adorable! He looks pretty happy with his new pal Ben. I miss you so much!
