So, the last picture of Thomas with the snail has nothing to do with the orphanage. in Ghana if you buy a large amount of something from someone they often "dash" you something for free. so the dash is supposed to encourage you to come back or just make sure you got a fare deal. the other day i went to the market in madina -a huge open air market that smells like dried fish. As usuasl everyone was in love with the obruniba and these two old women selling casava and snails dashed thomas a snail - "it is good for the baby" they said. Also, here is a picture of my market bag - huge i know, i actually exchanged it for a smaller one. i do miss shopping carts and the trunk of my car for transport of food stuffs from market home!
