Mutinondo

I just realized this is a ridiculous amount of pictures...but I feel like I have to post a ton so that our family doesn't forget us.

We spent last weekend at the gorgeous Mutinondo Wilderness. It was amazing and in many ways, a soul refresher. The Mutinondo Wilderness claims a croc and parasite free river. We loved playing in the water and taking gratifying hikes atop granite whalebacks. It was strange looking down and seeing lichen and wildflowers growing in dark moss on the granite…it felt like we were hiking in Europe.

It was wonderful to spend Easter Sunday overlooking the beautiful world God created for us and contemplating the sacrifice of His son. What a great reminder of Heavenly Father’s love for us.

We overlapped one night with our neighbors the Ellingtons. Their boys Chris and Clayton are local heroes at our house. Thomas thinks they are the bees-knees. It is so nice to have such great neighbors, always friendly and always there if we need them.

Thomas was stoked for some uninterrupted Daddy time

greased up and ready for hiking...urr...riding up the mountain

The beginning of our trek up Charlie's mountain. Also, I am so stoked to finally capture what we call the "George W". Cali gives us this hilarious look all the time and it conjures images of former President Bush...no? flarred nostrils, furrowed brow

"look at those calves kids...he's like a thoroughbred"
(Thanks mamma Sherry for the genetics !)

It doesn't look this way, but Thomas actually did a great job hiking...and Seth did a great job hauling him the rest of the time.

This smile is for Ami and Poppi only...he refused to smile until we told him the picture was for them.
Thomas and I suffered a major ant attack on the descent...African ants are hearty!

playing in the showerWe liked this spot so much we went back after our Easter festivities for lunch.

Seth pointed out we look like a garage sale everywhere we go...also we had really sunburned necks from the day before...hence the bandanas and me not wearing my bathing suit that ties at the neck :)

obsessed with the bum...obsessed

I think this is my most favorite post of all time from you guys! What a great outing. You guys look great...how is Seth able to grow a beard?

Where to start?

Seth, I think that's the longest beard I've ever seen on you. Welcome to puberty.

I'm appreciating my bathroom even more this morning after seeing Tommy on the pot.

That picture of Seth, holding Cali, while balancing on that itty bitty rope freaked me out. You are a brave Mom, Caroline.

Love Cali's George Bush expression.

You look amazing Caroline. If my tummy was that flat I'd also wear that swimsuit. Way to go.

Looks like an amazing weekend!

You're right, I totally forget you guys if you don't post a ton of pictures, so now you have to do that EVER post. I love it. Seth, welcome to manhood. You've finally caught up to your calves. Love Cali and George. And Carrie Sherry, way to represent, you look amazing!
